Endorsed by Adolph Sutro on Dec. 18, 1914 turning over 17 shares to Lucy Luhman, and another endorsement turning over 17 shares to Robert C. Charles Herman Liebert was born in Newport, Kentucky in the 1850s. He was hired by the Singer Manufacturing Company to read and prepare replies to its German correspondence. He remained with Singer for more than sixty years and, for many years before his retirement, was chief cashier. Liebert passed all of his adult life in New York City and was active in several clubs. Adolph Heinrich Joseph Sutro, originator of the Sutro Tunnel in Nevada and well-known figure in San Francisco, born of Jewish parents in 1830 at Aix-la-Chapelle in Germany, left school at sixteen, but continued his education by reading voraciously.
